Foundations: A Place for White Men to Learn, Reflect, and Show Up Better
Something is changing in our communities, our workplaces, and our families.
Conversations about class and race feel harder, more charged, and more confusing than they used to. Many white men find themselves unsure what to say, when to speak up, or how to stay true to their values without adding harm or withdrawing altogether.
Why This matters: None of us chose the world we were born into. But we do choose how we respond to it.
Race and class continue to shape opportunity, trust, safety, and belonging in ways that affect our neighbors, our coworkers, and our kids. At the same time, many white men carry a quiet sense of distance, defensiveness, or isolation—unsure where we fit in conversations that feel loaded or polarized.
To begin to create a world with better outcomes, we need to slow down, build connections and learn how to participate differently. Not out of guilt. Out of responsibility, curiosity, and a desire for healthier communities—and healthier lives.
What to Expect: White Men for Racial Justice Minnesota's Foundations is a structured, respectful space to learn and talk with other white men—across age, background, and experience—about race and class in America and in Minnesota. This isn’t about winning arguments or saying the “right” thing. It’s about understanding, growth, and showing up with intention on a community of men trying to do the same thing.
You’ll engage with:
- The acclaimed Seeing White podcast series
- Supplemental materials and prompts to unpack the construct of whiteness in America
